Sustainable stand construction

Sustainable stand construction is not a marketing concept at Bridge EF. Sustainable stand design is deeply rooted in our way of working. Where others still struggle with choosing the right materials, with our team that choice comes naturally. Sustainability is in our genes.

The sustainable stand is constructed from 3 types of recyclable materials:

  • materials that you rent from us; for example, modular stand frames, stand lighting and most of the stand furnishings. Even after their lifetime, these materials are recyclable. We stock these materials in our warehouse. Do you want to realise a creative stand quickly? You can! From design to realisation within just a few days by using modular stand construction frames.
  • Stand-building materials you buy from us are disposable but 100% recyclable. This includes floor covering such as vinyl, carpet and laminate.
  • materials that you buy from us but are reusable. Think of printed tendon cloths for walls. At the end of their useful life, these materials are recyclable.

Conscious choice of materials

A sustainable exhibition stand starts with advice, design and the materials chosen in the process.

The basis of our design process is modular, sustainable materials. Consider our aluminium stand frames, which can be filled with printed cloths or sheet material.

If you exhibit several times a year and in different stand sizes, we can divide up artwork for the walls so that some of the artwork can also be used in a smaller stand. If you no longer use the artwork in the stand, perhaps it can be given a new use in your showroom or business premises. You can mount these prints in frames ne possibly with additional soundproofing material. If that’s not a cradle to cradle solution….

Nowadays, all the materials we use for stand construction are recyclable. We offer you maximum creativity and optimum sustainability in our stand designs and realisations.

Circular & recyclable

When creating a sustainable exhibition stand, we use materials that are circular and/or recyclable.

Which materials are used in the realisation of a sustainable exhibition stand.

Many stand walls are recyclable, but we don’t think that goes far enough. We use Aluvision brand modular frames. These are frames made of aluminium, with 70% being recycled aluminium. The frames can be infinitely reused and should damage occur to the frames, the materials are the raw material for new frames. So cradle to cradle. The frames can also be used hybridly. The walls are suitable for mounting printed tendon cloth and panels. Frames are the basic structures of the stand.

It is important to pay attention to the right quality of the LED lighting in connection with colourfastness of the LED, so that the exhibited products maintain their natural colouring. In some applications, we use gas discharge lamps. Although most people think that LED lighting is always the best solution, our lighting designers know better than anyone that there are a number of applications, where a gas discharge lamp consumes less energy than an equivalent solution with energy-efficient LED lighting. In both applications, there is little energy consumption, after taking stock of your objectives and wishes, we will be happy to advise you on choosing the right lighting.

Raised floors are used to conceal cabling and create a fancier look for the stand. We use OCTAeco floor. This floor is made of recycled plastic and is quick to lay. OCTAeco floor is suitable for concealing cabling and gives your stand a chic look. Sometimes all you need is a floor covering. After taking stock of your requirements, we can think along with you and advise you on the right choice of floor.

Floorcovering includes carpet, laminate and vinyl. Depending on your budget, desired look and intensity of use, we can help you make the right choice. All these materials are collected separately after use and offered for recycling. Carpet is processed into granulates that are used as raw material for other applications. By choosing these materials, you reduce the ecological footprint of your trade fair participation.

Our furniture is made of recyclable materials. Furniture that we deploy infrequently is rented from major international partners and is usually delivered directly to the fair. We also have in-house furniture, which is the common design furniture that is often used. By doing so, we reduce CO2 emissions due to unnecessary transport movements from our partners. Would you like to put even more emphasis on circularity? Then ask about furniture with the sustainable label. A furniture line where PET bottles are given a second life.

Artwork on the walls is mainly done with printed tendon cloths. The big advantage is that these canvases are reusable. We can also divide these canvases so that some of them can also be used in a smaller stand. The stretched canvases can also be used in your showroom after the fair. Should these cloths no longer be used, they are recyclable.

With the right combination of materials, sanding and painting are usually unnecessary. Occasionally, however, a board or part of a floor has to be sawn or sanded. But even then we can work dust-free using Festool autostart hoovers. Naturally, we also use this hoover to clean up your stand, which is very handy!
